Therapy Approach
I strive to provide an empathic, relaxed, and secure therapeutic space where you feel safe to freely explore your inner world and take risks in the outside world. One may have relationship hardships, be depressed or anxious, experience trauma, or just feel incomplete and want to expand their self-development. Some people's everyday coping strategies stop working as well as they once did. Others may find themselves repeating distressing patterns in their lives or feeling something's wrong, unable to verbalize or comprehend their pain. We will work together to make sense of your experience through insight and emotional understanding.
My approach is primarily through a psychodynamic lens with practical considerations, where we can get curious about conscious and unconscious factors of your situation and figure out solutions to your problems in the here and now. These styles focus on the client’s past, present, future, and who they are about themselves and others. This includes helping clients cultivate self-awareness and change through a shared understanding and developing coping skills tailored to each unique individual. I also utilize creative means like art and music as part of the therapeutic process.
